Working with the Batonga Foundation

the batonga foundation's mission is to build support for both secondary school and higher education for girls in africa. led by west african singer, songwriter and unicef goodwill ambassador angelique kidjo, batonga has enrolled more than 400 girls in secondary school and universities across benin, cameroon, ethiopia, mali and sierra leone.

early october joanna worked with the junior committee of the batonga foundation to come up with a sterling silver and leather bracelet that was handed out at the batonga fundraiser launch event in new york city on november 16th 2007.

the event was hosted by angelique kidjo, actress vanessa redgrave, designer donna karan and model liya kebede. for more information on the event please click here.
